Well, I don't even know where to begin. Eli has been a little under the weather, with a fever, cough, and vomiting. We took him to his pediatrician, and he's got an ear infection; however his O2 sats were a little low and his breathing a little shallow. With his asthma we don't want to take any chances. He improved a little with 2 breathing treatments in the doctor's office and the fever came down. We made it home, and continued with the breathing treatments; however he started this scary "whistley" cough. Anyone who has a child with asthma like symptoms knows what that "whistley" cough sounds like. It continued all afternoon, and progressively got worse. We ended up in the children's ER, and after 4 hours and some meds, chest xray, and more breathing treatments, we were sent home. The coughing has decreased and is now more "productive." We have to continue breathing treatments, prednisone, and antibiotics over the next few days in hopes of getting better. We are scheduled to leave for the beach in 1 week, and are determined to get to enjoy some much needed time away.
It's just so hard to see your little one sick, when you are doing all that you know how to, but they are still sick. I would certainly trade places with him in an instant.
